The Annapolis Panthers lost against the Meade Mustangs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Annapolis lost to Meade on the road by a decisive 64-45 margin. While losing is never fun, Annapolis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Meade is ranked 67th).
Meade's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Johnson, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Josh Holmes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Annapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Meade, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Annapolis will be playing at home against South River at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. South River is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Meade, Meade and Glen Burnie will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
