Basketball Recap: Rosemont's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Rosemont was the 62-59 winner over Liberty Ranch when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rosemont Wolverines took a hard 63-46 fall against the Liberty Ranch Hawks on Friday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Rosemont still got an impressive performance from Ja'Monte Cole, who went 9 for 19 on his way to 20 points and five steals. Cole's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Irion, who posted nine points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Rosemont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Liberty Ranch was led to victory by Elliott Hawker and Derek Nelson. Hawker went 7 of 12 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds, while Nelson went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the most points Nelson has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kobe Aguillen, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Rosemont's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9. As for Liberty Ranch, their record now sits at 9-10.

Rosemont will head out to face off against Argonaut at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Argonaut knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 matchups -- so hopefully Rosemont likes a good challenge. As for Liberty Ranch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Ranch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
