Smethport moved up to 454 from 519 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Allegheny Mountain - Northern. A 35-14 win over Cameron County helped the Hubbers improve their standing.
Port Allegany's dynamic duo of Matt Bodamer and Nick Conway proved tough for Otto-Eldred to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bodamer threw for 377 yards and six touchdowns and Conway had 198 yards receiving. Rickie Bova helped Port Allegany's passing attack out by catching five balls for 76 yards.
Clay Schuler was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 210 yards on 21 carries as Smethport beat the Terrors. Teammate Karl Lightner added to the ground attack by rushing for 102 yards.
Port Allegany's Bodamer and Conway have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bodamer has thrown for 1644 yards this season, while Conway, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 27 catches for 598 yards. Jim Berlin's team's Schuler leads the league in rushing yards with 655.
The top two teams in Allegheny Mountain - Northern will face off this week when first place Port Allegany takes on second place Smethport. Last week, Michael Bodamer's team beat Otto-Eldred, while the Hubbers defeated the Raiders.
