The Stanton Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the West Nassau Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Stanton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Stanton scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top against Beachside by a score of 76-63. That looming 76-63 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Stanton yet this season.
Stanton found their leader in underclassman Christian Ricks, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 2 assists. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Ricks. David Burton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine assists.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to West Nassau, who are still winless after their sixth match. Their rough 69-49 defeat to Fernandina Beach on Wednesday might stick with them for a while.
The win makes it two in a row for Stanton and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for West Nassau, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Stanton was taken down by West Nassau 61-25 when the teams last played back in January of 2019. Thankfully for Stanton, Dallan Coleman (who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
