Basketball Recap: Clover Garden School Takes a Loss

Clover Garden School lost against Triangle Math & Science back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Clover Garden School Grizzlies fell to the Triangle Math & Science Tigers 64-58.

Despite the loss, Clover Garden School still got an impressive performance from Brayden DeAlto, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The matchup was DeAlto's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Saunders, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Clover Garden School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Triangle Math & Science's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ahmed Omer, who went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahlil Farah, who had 12 points and three steals.

Clover Garden School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Triangle Math & Science, their record now sits at 5-16.

Coming up, Clover Garden School will head out to square off against Woods Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clover Garden School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Woods Charter likes a good challenge. As for Triangle Math & Science, they and Ascend Leadership will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
