Corinth Holders has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Corinth Holders focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Last Friday, Corinth Holders beat Fuquay - Varina 46-34. Given Corinth Holders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Fuquay - Varina is ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Corinth Holders got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Darla Lee out in front who scored 24 points along with four steals. The contest was Lee's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamea Davis, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southeast Raleigh earned a 35-25 win over Cleveland on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southeast Raleigh.
Corinth Holders pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Southeast Raleigh, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Corinth Holders came up short against Southeast Raleigh when the teams last played back in January, falling 36-23. Can Corinth Holders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
