AA District 16 recap November 13, 2013
Fairley lost to Lewis County 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Craigmont led AA District 16 in scoring this week by notching 37 points on Craigmont.
Trezevant's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Spencer threw for 135 and 1 touchdown and Gabriel Scott had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Jamal Jones contributed 203 yards. Phildarius Butler helped Trezevant's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 47 yards.
Butler made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bears defeated Haywood. He nabbed 2 interceptions.
Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Trezevant bested the Tomcats. Jones' key target this week was Scott, who caught 4 passes for 66 yards.
Scott was the best wideout in the league this week as Teli White's team topped Haywood. Butler helped Trezevant's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 47 yards.
Trezevant's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Spencer has thrown for 752 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Scott has 21 catches for 489 yards.
The Bears made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,463 from 1,740. The improvement was the result of a 34-0 victory over Ernie Jackson's team last week.
