The Creighton Prep Junior Jays had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Bryan by a score of 56-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Creighton Prep also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Creighton Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trinell Parker, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Dillon Claussen, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Bryan had strong showings from A'mare Bynum, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Amir Martin, who scored 17 points. Bynum hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games.
Bryan struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Creighton Prep pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Creighton Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Bryan, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creighton Prep will square off against Gretna on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Gretna is ranked 33rd, while Creighton Prep is ranked 35th). Bryan's road trip will continue as they head out to face Elkhorn South at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Elkhorn South has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
