Wausa and Bloomfield are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Wausa Vikings will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Bloomfield Bees at 7:00 p.m. on February 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Wausa is ranked 167th, while Bloomfield is ranked 151st).
Last Friday, Wausa strolled past Crofton with points to spare, taking the game 44-30.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wausa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Schindler, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Preston Schlote, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Creighton as Bloomfield made off with a 71-46 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Bloomfield who now have four in a row.
Layne Warrior was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Jacob Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Wausa's record now sits at 11-9. As for Bloomfield, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Wausa haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 3.1 turnovers per game. However, it's not like Bloomfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 9.8 turnovers per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Wausa came up short against Bloomfield when the teams last played last Saturday, falling 49-37. Can Wausa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
