Lynbrook is 0-7 against Plainedge since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Lynbrook Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Plainedge Red Devils at 2:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lynbrook put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 43-0 victory over Division at home. Given Lynbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Division is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Plainedge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Side on Friday, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory.
Plainedge found their leader in underclassman Dylan Fella, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Jack Rizzo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lynbrook now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Plainedge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Lynbrook was taken down by Plainedge 49-7 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can Lynbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
