Word of Life Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandy Valley. Word of Life Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sandy Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Sandy Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tage Colon, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Damion Turner, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Word of Life Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sandy Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Word of Life Christian Academy will face off against Liberty Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandy Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Beaver Dam at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
