5A North Metro recap Nov. 7, 2012
Ralston Valley extended the longest winning streak in 5A North Metro this week by beating Castle View, 45-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Mustangs.
Arvada West and Prairie View played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Arvada West eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory.
Chris Marquez was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 162 yards as Pomona fell to Grandview. Konner Burns also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.
Tj Patterson threw for 403 yards and six touchdowns. He was 28-32 with zero interceptions.
Martin was the best wideout in 5A North Metro this week as the Knights lost to the Wolves. Martin tallied nine receptions for 171 yards. Cole Scheifele helped Fairview's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 100 yards.
Fairview's Johnny Feauto and Martin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Feauto has thrown for 2316 yards this season, while Martin, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 76 catches for 1289 yards. Phydell Paris from Legacy leads the league in rushing with 1151 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against Columbine, Alec Feland is short just 157 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 13 touchdowns this year, Feland has thrown for 1843 yards with 14 interceptions.
Boulder led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Thornton. Patterson ran for 23 yards in the win.
