Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Tolland's Third in Last Four Outings

Tolland barely beat E.O. Smith/Tolland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Bucks get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Chase Anderson, who gave up just three hits to keep E.O. Smith/Tolland off the board. Anderson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tolland is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Ivan Hramiak was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Mason Bryant was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tolland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for E.O. Smith/Tolland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Tolland will face off against Windsor at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for E.O. Smith/Tolland, they will square off against Glastonbury at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
