The Redeemer Christian Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by St. John Lutheran at home to the tune of 73-29. That looming 73-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Redeemer Christian yet this season.
Andrew Parker was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Redeemer Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Beau Suarez, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Disimile, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Gravante, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Redeemer Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-5. As for St. John Lutheran, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redeemer Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Umatilla knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Redeemer Christian likes a good challenge. St. John Lutheran will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Saint Francis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
