The Grand Valley Cardinals's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Cedaredge Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
On Tuesday, Grand Valley earned a 56-43 win over Olathe.
Meanwhile, Cedaredge waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 58-46 win over Roaring Fork. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, as Cedaredge did.
Cedaredge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Maxey, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Maxey hasn't dropped below 16 points for nine straight games. Logan Tullis was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds.
Grand Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Cedaredge, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9.
Grand Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Cedaredge in their previous meeting back in January, winning 62-49. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Maxey, who scored 28 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Grand Valley still be able to contain Maxey? There's only one way to find out.
