Soquel made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,954 from 8,284. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 31-12 victory over Santa Cruz last week.
Leading Santa Cruz Coast in both passing and receiving yards, San Lorenzo Valley's Isaac Newberry and Patrick Primeau have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Newberry has thrown for 656 yards this season, while Primeau has 17 catches for 216 yards. The Cardinals' Ashtyn Davis leads the league in rushing yards with 289.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Santa Cruz takes on Aptos. At the moment, JESSE TRUMBULL's team is in fourth, while the Mariners are in third.
Aptos led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Harbor.
