Baker County had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 13-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Union County Fighting Tigers, falling 13-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in February.

Nicholas Chowaniec was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Baker County: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Blane Chauncey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Union County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
On Union County's side, they got a great performance from Ayden Androlevich as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Androlevich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brezdyn Browning was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Westyn Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Coming up, Baker County will host Bradford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Union County, they will challenge Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
