Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Northeast

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northeast walked away with it. They blew past the Manatee Hurricanes 11-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Vikings have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lashell Roberts was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Giannah Martin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the fourth in a row for Northeast, bringing their record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Coming up, Northeast will take on Pinellas Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Manatee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
