The Dyersburg Trojans put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ripley 45-15 at home. Considering Dyersburg has won nine contests by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Although Ripley took the loss, they still got scores from Marjay Barbee and JaQarrius Hurdle.
Dyersburg's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Liberty Tech Magnet and 2-8 McNairy Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.5% over those games). As for Ripley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Dyersburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Memphis East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Dyersburg is ranked 53rd). As for Ripley, they will head out on the road to face off against Sheffield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheffield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 331 points over their last seven games.
