Firth is a perfect 10-0 against Salmon since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will head out to challenge the Savages at 4:00 p.m. Firth is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Firth barely beat Challis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Michael Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Grant Vasquez and Beau Ringel did most of the damage at the plate: Vasquez went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Ringel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Vasquez has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Darrell Vasquez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Firth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Salmon was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 10-2 to Firth.
Salmon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Baumer, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Baumer has hit this season.
Firth pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Salmon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Firth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Salmon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Firth took their win against Salmon in their previous matchup on Monday by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
