The Bishop Foley Ventures will face off against the Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Bishop Foley made easy work of Our Lady of the Lakes and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ventures.

Mason Kanar made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Bishop Foley is undefeated when Kanar allows two or fewer earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Kanar was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Bishop Foley got a massive performance out of Cooper Dolot, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Dolot also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Vogel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Bishop Foley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cranes a 10-0 shutout.
Bishop Foley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame Prep, their record now sits at 12-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bishop Foley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Notre Dame Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bishop Foley might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Notre Dame Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Ventures avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
