Softball Recap: String Theory Wins Going Away Against Varsity Opponent

String Theory won the last time they faced Varsity Opponent and things went their way on Tuesday too. String Theory put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp 12-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for String Theory.

Annamae Uhl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Uhl was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danica Divincenzo, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Alexa Pietrafesa was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

String Theory's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. String Theory will challenge Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing at home against Cajun Christian Athletics at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Varsity Opponent has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
