Baseball Recap: Adams Central Wins Going Away Against Woodlan

Adams Central won the last time they faced Woodlan and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Flying Jets were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Warriors. The Flying Jets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Adams Central got a massive performance out of Ethan Funk, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Funk is becoming a predictor of the Flying Jets' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Max Byerly, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Adams Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Adams Central and bumps their season record up to 6-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Woodlan, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Coming up, Adams Central will challenge Jay County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodlan, they will square off against Bellmont at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
