The Johnson-Brock Eagles put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They breezed by Winside at home to the tune of 58-0. Fans of Johnson-Brock have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Johnson-Brock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Gravatt, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Gravatt was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Sloan Pelican was another key contributor, throwing for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Johnson-Brock's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Winside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Johnson-Brock will be playing at home against Anselmo-Merna at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Anselmo-Merna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Johnson-Brock is ranked first). Winside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
