A well-balanced attack led Fort Calhoun over the Eagles in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Fort Calhoun took down the Eagles 58-42. Given Fort Calhoun's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Calhoun to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grayson Bouwman, who scored 20 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Declyn Otte, who scored 13 points.

Fort Calhoun pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fort Calhoun have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Nebraska City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Fort Calhoun was able to grind out a solid win over the Pioneers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 54-43. Will Fort Calhoun repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
