After six games on the road, Wink is heading back home. They will take on the Jal Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wink focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Wink was able to grind out a solid win over Reagan County, taking the game 40-31. The victory was just what Wink needed coming off of a 53-15 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Aizlyn Dewberry, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Wink's points. Another player making a difference was Crystal Quiroz, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Jal, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-33 loss to Kermit on Tuesday. Jal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wink now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Jal, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Wink strolled past Jal when the teams last played back in November of 2019 by a score of 38-19. Does Wink have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
