Highland hasn't had much luck against Alta recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Hawks at 6:30 p.m.
Highland managed to slip by West the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 3-0 to the Panthers on Thursday. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
Highland was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 21 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Alta made easy work of Brighton last Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won four in a row.
Alta walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-15, 25-22.
Highland better focus on containing Mayson Meirinho and Corbin Batista as the pair were huge in Alta's win. Meirinho had four digs and two aces, while Batista had 19 kills, seven digs, and one block. The dominant performance also gave Meirinho a new career-high in assists (19).
Alta was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive contests.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Alta, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
Highland might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Alta in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
