Frostproof proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Lake Gibson Braves 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Ricky Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Nico Rybinski was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Stetson Ogburn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Frostproof pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Lake Gibson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frostproof will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Haines City at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. After both having extra time off, Lake Gibson and Victory Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th.
