Ava Wotipka Turns in Season-Best Performance
Ava Wotipka produced her most outstanding game to date while leading Somerset Academy - Canyons to the win on Wednesday. Wotipka rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes. The effort marked the most rushing yards she has had since back in March of 2024. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 75 yards.
The win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Coming up, Wotipka and Somerset Academy - Canyons will venture away from home to square off against Wellington at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Gateway Charter Gets a Boost from Johnson in 26-25 Win
Gateway Charter took down South Fort Myers on Thursday, a win that might not have happened without Jazmyn Johnson's performance. Johnson made her presence known, throwing for 89 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of her passes, and also catching one touchdown. She also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.
Gateway Charter's win bumped their record up to 3-1. Johnson and Gateway Charter will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bishop Verot at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th.
