Cesar E. Chavez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Houston Math Science & Tech a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Lobos haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Ava Castillo - 2026 and Ahmani Hawkins - 2027 were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Castillo - 2026 pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hawkins - 2027 struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Castillo - 2026 has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Castillo - 2026 got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI, while Hawkins - 2027 went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Hawkins - 2027 a new career-high.
In other batting news, Penelope Hernandez - 2027 and Izarely Almaguer - 2026 did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez - 2027 went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Almaguer - 2026 got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave Hernandez - 2027 a new career-high. Daniela Rivera - 2027 also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Cesar E. Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westside, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in February. They put the hurt on Houston Math Science & Tech with a sharp 17-0 victory two weeks ago.
Westside's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Cesar E. Chavez, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
