The Eupora Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Hamilton Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Eupora, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Eupora narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Vardaman 43-40. The victory was just what Eupora needed coming off of a 60-27 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Hamilton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 42-36 to Nanih Waiya. It was the first time this season that Hamilton let down their fans at home.
Eupora now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hamilton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.
Eupora was able to grind out a solid victory over Hamilton when the teams last played back in November, winning 47-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eupora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
