The Crofton Warriors suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Pierce by a score of 49-47. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crofton in their matchups with Pierce: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trevor Allen, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season. Seth Pinkelman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Crofton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Pierce, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Crofton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on February 6th. As for Pierce, they will head out on the road to square off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Guardian Angels Central Catholic is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
