The Beech Grove Hornets will square off against the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beech Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Beech Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Indianapolis Scecina Memorial with a sharp 26-1 victory on Monday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Nola Alford made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mylee Boling was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Harper Moore was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Beech Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 21-16 to Liberty Christian. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly five runs.
Berkley Finke stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abigail Thiesing, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
Beech Grove's record now sits at 2-7-1. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Beech Grove took their victory against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
