Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Bozeman Hawks walked away with it. They put the hurt on Butte with a sharp 31-7 victory on Friday. The win was just business as usual for Bozeman, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Kellen Harrison, who rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 235 yards and a touchdown while completing 82.6% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Harley Bianchini, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bozeman's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Hudson Wiens and his two sacks.
Bozeman's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Butte, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Bozeman will be playing in front of their home fans against Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Capital is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Butte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
