Basketball Game Preview: Parkway Northwest Hoyas vs. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy

The Parkway Northwest Hoyas are taking a road trip to challenge KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Parkway Northwest will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

On Tuesday, Parkway Northwest needed a bit of extra time to put away Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech. They slipped by the Panthers 57-56. 57 seems to be a good number for the Hoyas as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkway Northwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kahleem Jordan, who posted 25 points. The game was Jordan's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Carter, who had 16 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy). They blew past Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush 81-60 on Tuesday. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy's win came from a few key players Parkway Northwest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mekhi Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. Tali Baker was another key player, going 9 of 12 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Parkway Northwest pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Parkway Northwest strolled past KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 67-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkway Northwest since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
