The Presentation Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Piedmont Hills Pirates at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Presentation was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Independence on Friday. Everything went Presentation's way against Independence as Presentation made off with a 20-1 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Allie Malatesta made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Simon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (five). Audrey Kang also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Presentation always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Piedmont Hills got themselves on the board against Independence on Tuesday, but Independence never followed suit. They put the hurt on the 76ers with a sharp 17-0 victory. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pirates yet this season.
Michelle Torres was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Isabella Paskert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
The win got Presentation back to even at 2-2. As for Piedmont Hills, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Piedmont Hills' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Presentation has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. It's a different story for Piedmont Hills, though, as they've only averaged .345. Will they be able to contain Presentation's hitters?
Presentation suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Piedmont Hills in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Presentation avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
