West Carteret sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 victory over Kinston. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Carteret.
It was another big night for Sam Huber, who scored 8 points along with 10 steals and 8 rebounds. Huber is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Holmes, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds.
West Carteret's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Kinston, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Carteret will take on Pamlico County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pamlico County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 469th, while West Carteret is ranked 166th). As for Kinston, they will be playing at home against Greene Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
