After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Magnolia Heights, North Delta was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-13 victory over the Indianola Academy Colonels at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Green Wave had established a 23 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Delta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mike Pinkston, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Pinkston's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Gabe Carlisle was another key back, rushing for 135 yards on only 15 carries.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Delta was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 453 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.
North Delta wouldn't let Indianola Academy keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Caden Land, Mason Fly, and Kasen Bates picked up one apiece.
The win got North Delta back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Delta will venture away from home to challenge Benton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Indianola Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Lee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
