It was a good run, but the Douglas County Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 47-39 to Alexander. Douglas County has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marquacious Wright, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kory Young jr., who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Alexander got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braedan Lue out in front who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Another player making a difference was Allen Stoddard, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Alexander, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2.
Douglas County will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Langston Hughes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Alexander, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. East Paulding will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Cougars are ranked fifth).
