Baseball Recap: Prescott Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mingus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prescott). They were the clear victors by a 22-8 margin over the Mingus Marauders on Monday. The Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by nine runs or more this season.

Prescott got a massive performance out of Lucas Tobin, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Tobin has become a key player for the Badgers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Ivan Schuster was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Prescott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Prescott's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Mingus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15-1.

Coming up, Prescott will be playing at home against Bradshaw Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mingus will be paying especially close attention to the Badgers' game: after the Badgers face off against the Bears, they'll take on Mingus again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
