Classical Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 70-38 victory over Genesis Prep. The win was just what Classical Prep needed coming off of a 64-30 loss in their prior match.
Classical Prep relied on the efforts of Andrew Ramirez, who scored 22 points along with two steals, and Kalan Schroder, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schroder has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Zimmerman, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Zephyrhills Christian Academy proved last Friday. Everything went their way against Cypress Creek as Zephyrhills Christian Academy made off with a 62-41 victory. That looming 62-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Zephyrhills Christian Academy yet this season.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Rogers Jones, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Xavier Perez, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Jordani Blanc was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Classical Prep's victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.
Classical Prep was taken down by the Warriors 85-34 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Classical Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
