Chester is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Burney is on a six-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Chester will square off against Burney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Chester will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Portola, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Chester was the clear victor by an 18-9 margin over Portola on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Volcanoes in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Jenna Schlueter was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Schlueter was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Chester got a massive performance out of Nancy Christianson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sarah Branch, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Burney made easy work of Weed last Tuesday and carried off a 14-5 win.
Like Chester, Burney also got a great game from a two-way player: Mia Perez. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Perez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Alyssa Hawkins was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Natalia Maldonado was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Burney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Chester's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Burney, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
