Glenbrook has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Homer Pelicans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenbrook will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Glenbrook stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Plain Dealing at home to the tune of 70-20. Given Glenbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Plain Dealing is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glenbrook's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Sentell led the charge by rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 38 receiving yards. Sentell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Landry Powell also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Homer can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Arcadia 44-12 on the road.
Among those leading the charge was Zyan Warren, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Raymond Castro was another key contributor, gaining 98 total yards and two touchdowns.
Glenbrook's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Plain Dealing and 1-7 Magnolia School of Excellence (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 28.1% over those games). As for Homer, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Glenbrook commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Homer struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.1 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Glenbrook didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Homer in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 18-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glenbrook since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
