The Kankakee Valley Kougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 67-45 loss at the hands of Rensselaer Central. While losing is never fun, Kankakee Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Rensselaer Central is ranked 23rd).
Several Kougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mallorie Rose, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Rose pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Plummer, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
