The Valley Vista Monsoon had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 42-27 victory over Shadow Ridge on Friday. The victory was just what Valley Vista needed coming off of a 49-6 defeat in their prior match.
Miles Pringle was a one-man wrecking crew for Valley Vista as he threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Zlokich, who picked up 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, Shadow Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Michael Callejas rushed for 118 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 63 receiving yards. Callejas was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 63 yards. Jayden Pico was another key contributor, rushing for 19 yards and a touchdown.
Valley Vista's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Shadow Ridge, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Valley Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shadow Ridge also has no future games currently scheduled.
