Even though the Lewis-Palmer Rangers have not done well against the Palmer Ridge Bears recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lewis-Palmer walked away with a 46-33 victory over Palmer Ridge. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lewis-Palmer.
Lewis-Palmer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Lane out in front who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Edmondson, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Palmer Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kylie Mayer. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taylor Peterson, who scored 11 points.
Palmer Ridge struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lewis-Palmer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Palmer Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis-Palmer will take on Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Lutheran is ranked 76th, while Lewis-Palmer is ranked 56th). As for Palmer Ridge, they will be playing at home against Air Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Air Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
