Not much got past Katelyn Vega, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Lincoln off the board. Vega has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sophia McGhie and Kiley Lira did most of the damage at the plate: McGhie went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Lira went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits McGhie has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Natalia Uribe, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Christopher was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted a batting average of .130.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Gilroy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westmont on Friday.
Gilroy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christy Haro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Christopher's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Gilroy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Gilroy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Christopher hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. It's a different story for Gilroy, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Christopher's hitters?
Christopher might still be hurting after the 14-5 defeat they got from Gilroy in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
