Baseball Game Preview: Tecumseh Braves vs. South Spencer Rebels

The Tecumseh Braves will head out to take on the South Spencer Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tecumseh has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tecumseh is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 15-11 win over Evansville Central on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tecumseh got a massive performance out of Degan Ash, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Ash a new career-high. Wyatt Huddleston was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Tecumseh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gibson Southern hit South Spencer with a eight-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels lost 11-1 to the Titans. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Spencer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Denver Epperson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Brody H also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

South Spencer's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Tecumseh, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Tecumseh took their win against South Spencer when the teams last played on April 1st by a conclusive 11-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
