After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paxton, Freeport was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Vernon Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.
Kaylee Carroll made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Carroll was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Stephens, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
