Basketball Recap: Puckett's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Puckett lost against Pelahatchie back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Puckett Wolves lost to the Pelahatchie Chiefs at home by a 74-57 margin. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Puckett still got an impressive performance from Caili McAfee, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, McAfee is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Shivers, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Puckett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Puckett's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Pelahatchie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Puckett will head out to face off against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Puckett is facing St. Andrew's Episcopal at the right time seeing as St. Andrew's Episcopal is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Pelahatchie, they will host Raleigh at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pelahatchie will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Raleigh will have lost four straight heading into Thursday's game.
